About Us
Nurturing BayBees was founded in 2017 after learning about the high maternal and infant mortality rates persons of color face. Launching soon after in June 2018, Nurturing BayBees went on to serve all races with a strong presence within the BIPOC community. During the pandemic we wanted to offer more than "labor" support as most hospitals were not allowing doulas on the labor floor to provide care. Therefore, we wanted to get ahead of any future curves by focusing on teaching parents about self-advocacy before and after pregnancy in the event doulas access is denied again in the future.
Here at NBB we have over 10+ years of postpartum and newborn care, over 5+ years of birth support and over 5+ years of preconception education. Our team includes mothers and fathers as nurses, mental health specialist, nannies, teachers and more. With that level experience anyone can see why NBB is a top doula choice.
(*BIPOC - black, indigenous, persons of color.)
Our Mission
Our mission is to change how families receive care before and after pregnancy with hopes they have a positive parenting journey regardless of their situation. Our slogan is:
"Nurturing BayBess and parents too!"
As we believe in nurturing the whole family unit. We at Nurturing BayBees want families to feel seen and be heard even when everyone else is focused on the new baby. We understand not all pregnancies end in happy tears and smiles. In those situations, parents still need to be nurtured, and supported. If there is one place that families can come to that provides full support from beginning to end - it is Nurturing BayBees.
Our Vision
Our vision is seeing families receive the same level care regardless of their method of payment, education or where they live.
At Nurturing BayBees we highlight equity and equality.

What Nurturing BayBees
Parents Say
"Definitely would recommend for her enthusiasm and awareness of what’s needed to make your birth plan go as you like. She was in tune with making me and my partner feel comfortable throughout the birthing process. Cannot imagine doing without her especially with this being our first child. Down to earth, professional, and charismatic for sure. Thanks for your services Alreema."
Aigner G.
"Alreema is an amizing person! My husband and I just had our first baby. We are so grateful that we found Arleema to be our doula. Given that this was our first pregnancy we had very little knowledge of what to expect both physically and emotionally. Arleema helped us through the whole process. She was instrumental in helping us gain knowledge about her work and what to expect in my pregnancy. Being first time parents can be hard in the beginning. She gave great advice about dealing with the emotional swings of pregnancy and all the difficulties of it. We cannot say thank you enough to Arleema for being such a great support."
Yaideliz A.
"Nurturing BayBees is the #1 place to go for information about anything you can think of when it comes to being a mom or being a supportive dad. Alreema is passionate about her craft and she is always expanding her knowledge in ways to help our parenting community. She has learned her craft in the classroom as well as by being a great mom herself to her children.

How can we help?
We help families by tapping into community resources and one of the biggest resources is health insurance. Did you know that your health insurance may cover important parenting classes, diapers, formula, breast pumps including DOULA support? Some Medicaid recipients may be eligible for free doula support depending on your state. What if you do not have Medicaid? It is perfectly fine as some health insurance companies are starting to expand their regular network coverage like Horizon BCBS. You checked and they said no, no worries. Try connecting with a customer service agent to see how you can use your FSA or HSA accounts to cover doula care. If that still doesn't work, we are more than willing to work with you under a payment plan.

Ready to check your coverage? Click the MCO you have below in your state. Log into your online portal to see all the services you have covered. If you're having trouble retrieving this information, call the customer service number on the back of your health insurance card.
For those that serve, served or the spouse of those serve/served - you may be eligible for doula care under Humana/TriCare.
